Common dental services you should know

Common dental services you should knowSome of the most common dental procedures include teeth cleaning and whitening, tooth extractions, veneering, fillings, root canals, and dentures.

Tooth cleaning is one of the most common reasons people visit dentists. It is recommended to have teeth cleaned once every six months or once per year. Tooth brushing at home might not be as efficient as cleaning at the dentists. The procedure is not uncomfortable and helps keep teeth shiny, healthy, and strong.

Teeth whitening is also a discomfort less procedure. It requires the dentist to use a specific hydrogen peroxide gel and a light source to help whiten teeth faster than home whitening kits.

Tooth extractions and root canal

These are honestly not the most pleasant of dental procedures. They are painful but are mostly performed to prevent further tooth pain, for example, caused by decay. Patients undergoing an extraction are either numbed thoroughly or unconscious.

A root canal could typically be the most dreaded procedure, and to be fair, it can be exceedingly uncomfortable and painful. The deadening and removal of the tooth's pulp is what is meant by the tooth canal. This is carried out in the infected or inflamed region of the tooth's center. Patients are usually numbed during this procedure.

Dentures, veneers, and fillings

Dentures or artificial teeth are meant to replace teeth that have been extracted or lost naturally, for example, due to old age. They can either be permanent or temporary but are, either way, removable.

Veneers are a thin white covering positioned on the front of the tooth for disciplinary purposes, for example, tooth whitening for discolored teeth or when a tooth is crooked.

Carries are a common problem and easy to get. Acids in food or the body could corrode and break a tooth's enamel, creating a cavity and a filling is the recommended cure for this. Patients are numbed during this procedure, so there is no pain, just a little pressure that should not be overly uncomfortable. The process takes an hour or two for a single tooth.
